It has been unseasonably warm and dry here in Colorado. Highs in the 70s now for weeks on end. We keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and bring us colder temps and a long overdue snow. But for now, I will content myself with one of my favorite fall rituals, crunching thru leaves. When I lived in Boston, the color of the leaves were magnificent, but when it came time to rake, typically the leaves were wet and underneath, frozen to the ground. No crunchity, crunch crunch.
